E-Mail Security

With e-mail people expect convenience, promptness and cost-efficiency.

Security has taken a back seat.

E-mails can be read and modified by any skillful internet user.
Exchanging confidential or sensitive information (i.e. human resources related, contracts, new technical developments, etc.) requires the following:

• Confidentiality (no unauthorized access )
• Integrity (securing content from being altered)
• Authenticity (originality and creditability of peer entity)
• Non-reputability of reception (acknowledgement)

Most of the available solutions can be too complicated. From discussions with our customers we know that the following criteria are important:

• Bi-directional exchange of confidential e-mails
• Minimal or no infrastructure or software requirements at partner sites
• Transparent as possible to the user
• Implementation and setup with standard configuration must be accomplished quickly and accurately.
• Maintenance must be easy do accomplish with existing IT staff
• Inclusion of established encryption standards (S/MIME, PGP, SSL)
